Music and Media : Music Launch Summit

One of the biggest things I have been doing in the music industry recently has been learning to branch out. And some of that effort has been through working with other professionals in the industry and through various networking events like Music Launch Summit.

Music Launch Summit is a FREE 3 week online conference series (Spanning September 13th-October 4th) created and hosted by musician and industry professional,Steve Palfreyman. Palfreyman believes that as a community, people can learn from one another and through the Summit this can reach a huge impact. “Building a new music industry means working together, from all corners of the globe and industry,” explains Palfreyman. “I’ve been so lucky to attend stacks of music conferences around the globe and I wanted to create a place where anybody would have access to the knowledge, inspiration and connection to peers that have made such an impact in my own vision and career. That’s what the Music Launch Summit is.”

Through exclusive interviews, viewers are invited to listen and learn from other professionals about how to make in big in the industry, and on extensive topics spanning the industry such as press releases, recording information or just communication and more. With a focus on launching music in a refreshing new way, the conference will bring artists the tools they need to stop their releases from falling on deaf ears, while aspiring entrepreneurs will develop new insight and inspiration into how some of the industry’s leading professionals have carved out careers in the industry and how viewers can do the same and be inspired to grow their careers.

With nearly 50 master classes with the brightest minds in the music business, this is one conference you don’t want to miss out on. Although the free access gives you an incredible opportunity to view the streams, VIP Access members will have lifetime access to all the Master Classes (even those that have passed) along with a 4-week implementation program for launching their next project, and a bunch of other goodies available through the Music Launch Summit programs!

While the conference is wrapping up over the last week into October 4th, you can still catch more info and details on the conference on the Music Hub/ Music Launch Summit Website here, or chat with some professionals in the industry through the conference Facebook group here.

Music and Media: Elders React To BMTH

Youtube’s Fine Brothers have done it again… another hilarious react video with our oldest generation, the Elders. The Elders on their channel have some funny input on many of their topics that they are chosen to react to for the channel and the overall React series. This time, it caught our music lovers attention…as these lovable Elders would be reacting to no one other than, Bring Me The Horizon.

Bring Me The Horizon have had an incredible year with the release of That’s The Spirit, and this video is icing on the cake. Featuring the music videos for “Throne”, “Shadow Moses” and “Follow You” it has a lot of witty commentary…and maybe some new BMTH fans. With the exposure to a whole new generation… how did they feel about this genre of music?

Check out the REACT video below and leave your comments about how you feel about Bring Me The Horizon! 🙂

Music and Media : Green Day’s Billie Joe Has an Instagram Clone

Today in the era of social media, there can be an Instagram account for anything. For businesses, bands, fan pages or even the family pet. I was scrolling through my regular Instagram feed when one fan page I followed posted an interesting picture.

First thinking, ‘Oh it’s a Green Day fan page, it’s an old photo of Billie. That’s awesome.’

Then I looked at the caption, where it mentioned Instagram user Martin Polak.

Fellow punk rocker, Martin Polak (of The Desperate Mind) has a very interesting Instagram account… as he is the spitting image of Green Day frontman, Billie Joe Armstrong.

And the resemblance is uncanny.

(Left = Armstrong, Right = Polak)

He often even uploads Green Day covers to the Instagram page as well, even showing off his vocal chops to match the iconic singer.

Green Day fans, if Billie Joe Armstrong ever goes down we have found the perfect replacement thanks to Instagram and the powers of social media. Trust me, I started to get confused that I wasn’t looking at Billie Joe, it makes you take a double take… either way it is incredible.

Music and Media: P!ATD brings pop punk to light on Youtube REACT channel

Youtube channel directed by the Fine Brothers recently brought in teenagers to react to Panic! At The Disco

Watch the reactions below :

But the biggest surprise of the video was the conversation about the pop punk genre and how it appeals to teenagers as their audience, and why it can be beneficial for a band to change their sound from time to time.

“They all have deep lyrics that strike a chord within me.” One reactor stated about the genre of pop punk. While another brought up the teenage rebellion phase stating, “I want to listen to this because my parents won’t like it. ”

Panic! At The Disco fans from old to new, this video is worth the watch and maybe even sing along too.
